Q: How do I open PromptCat?
Click the 🐱 icon in your browser toolbar, or press the shortcut Alt+Q (Option+Q on Mac). You can pin the icon for easier access.
Q: Is my data safe?
Yes. PromptCat stores all your prompts and settings locally on your device. We do not upload your data to any cloud server.
Q: How to insert a prompt into a webpage?
Open the Side Panel, select a prompt, fill in any variables, and click the "Inject to Page" button. Make sure your cursor is focused on a text input box on the webpage first.
Q: The "Inject" button isn't working.
1. Ensure you have clicked inside a text input box (like the ChatGPT input area) on the webpage.
2. Refresh the webpage and try again.
3. Some complex websites (like Google Docs) may block automated insertion. In this case, use the "Copy" button instead.
Q: Why did the Floating Ball disappear?
In version 2.6.0, we removed the Floating Ball feature to comply with Google's strict privacy policies. Please use the Side Panel or shortcut keys instead.
Q: API Key Error / AI features not working.
Check if your API Key is correct and has sufficient balance. Ensure you can access the AI provider's website (e.g., openai.com) from your network environment.
